This book was designed for the student to learn Cartesian tensors without the guidance of an instructor. Nevertheless, it is an excellent textbook for any teacher in advanced mathematics.
This book is a guide to the nomenclature of tensor analysis and an introduction to the subject. Although designed for orthogonal, three dimensional spaces, extensions into four, and higher, dimensions, with applications involving curvilinear coordinate systems, are discussed, and basics given, to encourage the student to explore further.
